I think you can expect to see some changes on some of the websites and Blogs I run in the very near future, including the website this Blog is associated with. Kevin’s Portal has become something of a frustration with me, as I have been unable to update any pages for a while. Indeed, the books page will not update and has even been deleted, without me having any ability to fix the problem – so it is likely that I will be changing hosts very soon. This will also mean a change in URL. So please keep an eye out for that as I won’t be able to change things on the website as it currently stands – i.e. keep an eye on this Blog.
Another big change – at least for me – will be the way I do Blog posts right across the board. I have a large number of Blogs which I post to on a regular basis which takes up a fair amount of time. I want to cut back a bit on the time I chew up doing this, as well as the amount of time I spend online. Therefore I am looking at taking two days a week off from Blogging and possibly at least one of those days from the Internet all together, just so I can do other things – like have a life 🙂
More on these things to come – I need to think a little more about each.
Evernote is my go everywhere memory and as such is my favourite and go to app. It is the best software I have ever come across and that I value the most. However it is not just one product or app now, there are a range of apps that are constantly being improved and seemingly added to. It is an exciting journey of discovery with Evernote and their various apps when you use them all of the time – you never know when the next update will become available or when a new app will be released.
It is difficult to describe why I love Evernote and what I use it for. There seems to be a myriad of ways to use Evernote and discovering a new use is just another of the attractions of Evernote. It seems to be an app that is perpetually making my life easier and clutter free even. Evernote can be used on a whole variety of apps and syncs across them all. A truly fantastic tool.
However, along with most of my web applications and apps, I have fallen behind in my use of Evernote and have a bit of catch up to do. In order for me to achieve this I am turning to the Evernote Blog and the podcasts that provide fantastic updates across all of the apps, uses for the various apps, etc. I am very keen to have a good grasp of the various apps and to have an ability to use them all to their full. They really do make life easier.
So currently I am listening to the podcasts (many of them again – they are entertaining in themselves) and reading the blog posts.
The videos will provide a bit of an introduction to Evernote. I highly recommend becoming familiar with the various Evernote apps and making them a part of your own life, productivity and organisation.
The videos below are by no means the end of the Evernote range of products and tools, but they do provide a good introduction to many of them.
I have recently added some new links to Kevin’s Portal. These include the following:
mylifelisted.com is a social network where members can list, count and share their life experiences. It seems a little odd perhaps to make lists of your experiences – what you’ve done, when you’ve done it, where you’ve been and what you’ve achieved – but it may be a useful way to remember your life to some degree. When you add locations on a map, add photos and comments, add the names of people who shared your experiences, the lists you form begin to take on even more meaning. So perhaps mylifelisted.com
could be a helpful and useful way to remember your life.
mylifelisted.com has only just begun and I have only just signed up, so time will tell as to how useful a site it is. I’ll give it a try anyhow.
